At Alkaloid Networks, we believe that where you work matters, but who you work with matters more. We aren’t just a collection of desks; we are a community of professionals, remote workers, and entrepreneurs who believe that we go further when we go together.

Our community is built on a simple, three-part North Star:

Here is what it means to be a part of Alkaloid:

1. Work First, Community Always

Alkaloid is, first and foremost, a place to get things done. We love the “constant hum” of productivity. While we encourage networking and collaboration, we honor the “deep work” of our neighbors.

• The Headphone Rule: If the headphones are on, please respect the privacy.
• The Indoor Voice: We celebrate collaboration, but we keep the volume at a level that allows everyone to focus.

2. Radical Stewardship

We don’t just “rent” space; we own the atmosphere. We treat the space with the same respect we’d treat our own homes (or better!).

• Leave it Better: Whether it’s a conference room or a shared desk, leave every space better than you found it.
• The Coffee Code: The saddest thing in the world is an empty coffee pot. If you finish it, be a hero and brew the next one.
• See a Mess, Fix a Mess: If the trash is full or a table is sticky, we don’t wait for “someone else” to handle it. We take pride in our environment.

3. Professional “Adulting”

We don’t believe in a thick book of micromanaged rules. We believe in “Adulting.” We trust our members to know right from wrong and to behave with the common sense and courtesy that a professional environment requires.

• Be Mindful: Be aware of how your calls, your “quitting time” drinks, or your guests affect those around you.
• Accountability: If you make a mistake or break something, own it. We’re all adults here.

4. Radical Inclusion & Safety

Alkaloid is a sanctuary for work. We have zero tolerance for harassment of any kind. We strive to provide a productive, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone, regardless of race, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, or disability.

• See Something, Say Something: We look out for one another. If you notice a situation that feels unsafe or disrespectful, our leadership is here to listen and act.

6. Respect for the Environment

To keep our community sustainable and comfortable for everyone, we follow a few practical boundaries:

• A Focused Atmosphere: To ensure the comfort of all members, we maintain a pet-free environment (with the exception of service animals).
• Shared Resources: From the fridge to the printer, we share fairly. We label our food, we don’t hog the bandwidth, and we contribute paper when we’re printing the Great American Novel.
