What are you working on right now?

Hope for Youth (HYPE) is all about connecting Black and brown girls in middle & high school to tech skills, leadership development & mentorship, college resources, and internship opportunities.

Who is your ideal target audience?

Schools & Community Based Organizations in underserved neighborhoods

What is a common misconception about your work?

High School Students aren’t able to contribute meaningfully in an internship

What is your big picture vision for your business?

We want to empower 2500 girls in Georgia with tech skills and we want to see equitable representation of Black women in the tech workforce.

What is your superpower?

I have strong faith and can believe beyond the most dire of circumstances.

Why Alkaloid?

As a solopreneur with a small, remote team, going “to work” everyday was really important to me. I liked the community that Alkaloid is building and the location is pretty amazing as well.

What is your favorite perk at Alkaloid?

I love how welcoming Katharine has been since joining.

What advice would you give someone considering coworking?

Visit a few different spaces and identify what is of value to you. There are so many coworking spaces to choose from these days. Knowing what I was really looking for and needing for my business has helped me to not get overwhelmed during the search.
