What are you working on right now?
The biggest project of my life is my newborn baby daughter. While I’ve been an entrepreneur for over a decade, there’s nothing like Baby 0.1 where you are figuring things out for the first time all over again. My team is split between Fayetteville, Arkansas, and Atlanta, GA. We have over 150 clients whom we manage websites, hosting, software, so that keeps us super busy. My goal in moving to Atlanta in 2016 was to get back to building products and services. I love working with startups and try to practice what I preach. The latest service we created is called Secure My Website which aims to simplify websites need for good security and SEO such as SSL Certificate, Daily Backups, Daily Updates, and 1-on-1 Password Manager Training.
Location! There’s nothing better than being able to walk along the Beltline from home to office. I live at the Alexan on Krog apartments which is only an 8 minute walk. (Except when detouring for coffee at Little Tart Bakeshop in Krog Street Market).
What is one thing that people don’t know about you?
I started college at Georgia Tech when I was 16 years old. My general patience in life has grown, though I’ve always been eager to get where I’m going.
Tell us an interesting work experience story.
I used to do a lot of public speaking as a way to grow the business early on. One time a guy came up to me afterward and said, “your slides are amazing, let’s talk”. I had to leave early from the conference and later found out the guy was a professional speaker and author, and also THE Keynote speaker for that conference! He’s been a client for over 10 years now and my company’s helped him with everything from beautifully designed powerpoint decks to building custom Learning Management software that helps him deliver his message to hundreds of schools a year.
Where was the last place you traveled to for fun and why?
Playa del Carmen, Mexico last summer for my bachelor party. That’s all I can say.
