What are you working on right now?

I am the CEO and Lead Psychotherapist of Contemporary Healing Spaces (CHS) which is a modern, culturally grounded mental health practice serving the BIPOC community and other marginalized groups who are ready to move beyond survival mode. We are currently expanding to provide services to other businesses who are in need of consultation, assessments and professional development.
Who is your ideal client?
My ideal clients are individuals who are high-achieving, hyper-independent and often feel overwhelmed, isolated, or pressured to always be the “strong one.”
What is a common misconception about your industry?
Individuals who seek mental health services are not “weak”, “lazy” or “crazy.” Seeking support and guidance from a mental health professional is the best thing you can do when you don’t feel like the best version of yourself. Do not wait until everything in your life has spiraled out of control.
What is a big picture for your business?
To equip individuals, organizations, and communities with mental health tools, skills, and resources that foster resilience, emotional well-being, and inclusive environments.
What is your superpower?
I am going to find a solution. It may not be immediately or in the way I envisioned, but I will find a solution. I do not like giving up on people, projects or myself.

What is your favorite productivity tool?
Listening to Cleo Sol or Jill Scott; Something about their music helps me to focus and get in the zone before meetings or when completing administrative task.
What book should everyone read?
We Should All Be Millionaires: A Woman’s Guide to Earning More, Building Wealth, and Gaining Economic Power by Rachel Rodgers. Such an amazing read and the author is from Queens, NY just like me :-)
Why Alkaloid?
THE LOCATION! When I need a break I love that I can take a walk on the Beltline or go get a bite to eat at Krog Street market.
What is your favorite perk at Alkaloid?
I love that we have free parking for members and their guests.
What advice would you give someone considering coworking?
Get to know others in the co-working space. People are doing some pretty cool things and it’s nice to learn about them.
Tell us one more thing about your experience at Alkaloid?
Alkaloid makes me feel welcomed and supported as a small business owner. I am always greeted with a smile and great conversation.
