I Founded Alkaloid Coworking for One Reason: I Wanted to Walk to Work. 

Eleven years ago, I looked at the map of Atlanta and saw a city defined by its traffic. If you have ever commuted here, you know the story. Measuring distances in “minutes on the Connector” and the daily grind of the highway commute.

I knew there had to be a better way to build a business and a life.

When I started Alkaloid Networks, the location wasn’t an afterthought. It wasn’t just “available real estate.” It was a deeply intentional choice. I chose this spot on the Atlanta Beltline Eastside Trail for our community because I had a dream that seems simple but was radical for Atlanta at the time (and maybe just a tad bit selfish). I wanted to walk to work.

I wanted a morning that started with fresh air and a stroll along the trail, not a grip on a steering wheel. Eleven years later, that decision remains the #1 thing people want to know about us.

The answer is yes, and after over a decade here, I can tell you that it changes everything about how you work.

Why “The Beltline Life” is a Business Strategy

People often think a scenic location is just a “perk.” But after years of watching entrepreneurs and remote works grow here, I’ve realized it’s actually a productivity strategy. You might even say, I knew it because I wanted it for myself but the evidence before my very eyes tells the real story.

  I believe in supporting growth, which is why I offer unlimited, well, everything. It was VERY important to me that members had ONE bill each month. You shouldn’t have to check your watch to see if you are out of conference room hours when you’re closing a big deal.

The most rewarding part of being here hasn’t just been my own walk to work. It’s been seeing hundreds of other people make that same intentional choice.
