Crossbeam Talent is in the middle of pilot season when new television shows cast their first season.
Who is your ideal client?
A talented actor who knows and understands the business side of the film industry.
What is a common misconception about your industry?
Acting is easy and no training is necessary. All you have to do is read the lines. I believe anyone can act but it does require training in certain skills to effectively portray another character on camera. Actors will be in training the entirety of their careers.
What is your big picture vision for your business?
Most agents cover certain regions (usually the region they live in), but I want to cover the entire US. This will provide more opportunities for my clients.
What is your favorite business or productivity tool?
This year I started using the Full Focus Planner and it’s helped me get my never ending to do list into a more manageable 3 big things.
Why Alkaloid?
When I first toured Alkaloid, I told Katharine I was having commitment issues in regards to choosing an office space. I didn’t want to get stuck in a place that really didn’t work for me. I’ve heard horror stories from friends about issues with the corporate coworking spaces. I was impressed that she didn’t try to sell or pressure me into a decision. I stay for many reasons:
- It’s nice to walk in and be able to chat with the owner of the place. That would not be possible at one of those chain coworking spaces. Katharine is a very savvy business owner and as a business owner myself I value other women entrepreneurs.
- There are many amenities here that are included which are not in other places – conference rooms, printing, mail, free parking.
- The Atlanta Beltline is steps away. It’s nice to know it’s there when I do have the time to walk.
- Last but definitely not least, everyone here is so nice and there is a real community atmosphere.

Research and tour several coworking spaces to find the one that not only works for your business goals but works for you personally as well.
